Prestige Ranking Among Boston Schools
相当deadset进入金融业。做公关etty okay in school, but now the time has come to apply to colleges. I really like the preppy college town feel that Boston has, and am narrowing my choices down to a few schools: Tufts, Babson, Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis, and Bentley. Cost isn't an issue for any of these schools and I would say I'm well-positioned to get into any of these. Can't really get the full picture looking at US News rankings because it's too general, so am looking to this site for advice. TIA.

Lmaoo why are you pigeonholing yourself into colleges only from one city? If you're on the BC semi-target caliber, might as well shoot for other low-targets. Only wanting to go to college in a specific town is really stupid. So much more that goes into making an enjoyable college experience than the "feel" of the surrounding city.

I'm not "pigeonholing" myself. Boston is simply a preference I have. I won't be at school 7 days a week, will I? What do you mean by "so much more goes into making an enjoyable college experience"? Let's see you attend a top college in rural Indiana with fuck-all to do during the weekends, if location and surrounding are no factors.
Lower your tone, high school Prospect.

In terms of how they're generally perceived on the street, here's how I would rank them.
1.Boston College
2.Tufts/Boston university
Thanks. I had presumed Boston College would come out on top, but always thought Tufts was on its level too.
公元前绝对# 1,至于列表FOfinance roles go. Tufts is probably a better school overall but isn't particularly pre-professional, though if you want to recruit and have good grades you probably will do just fine coming out of there. BU is an uphill battle for recruiting despite being a good school. Babson kids tend to go to less traditional business roles but have met a few that landed nice gigs - I've always been impressed with the school even if it isn't a big name. Never seen anyone from Bentley or Brandeis really. Hope this helps a bit.
Yes, it does help, appreciate it. Babson is a bit idiosyncratic. It doesn't even show up on the National US news ranking because its sole focus is entrepreneurship and all things business. That's what I worry about it. US news is the de facto source for rankings so I imagine it must be the first thing a hirer glances at before eliminating a population of the pool, given they don't have the patience to sift through the applications of hundreds?
Boston College is definitely the clear number one. Babson does well with and has a strong connection to a few investment banks. Look into their SPEAR Investment banking program. BU overall is just very expensive and a complete non-target for banking. Questrom generally also has a lot of kids wanting to go into banking. Don't know much about Tufts, Brandeis, or Bentley. I do know that Bentley is solid for accounting though.
Thanks. Will look into the program
Why is everyone applying BC this year… damn.
My guess is easing of travel. My college tours around Boston schools were packed with out-of-state people and many international ones. Once you see the campus in-person, it's hard not to fall in love
It's my #1 choice, hoping the competition isn't insane lol.
BC is a significant step above above the rest in terms of placement. Only target/semi-target school on that list.
BC clear favorite - BU probably 2
