Terra Firma was established by Guy Hands in 1994, originally as Nomura International's Principal Finance Group (PFG).

We search for opportunities which have been overlooked. We actively seek out investments in sectors which may be out of favour and in businesses which have been under-managed or under-capitalised.

We think and act long-term. We invest time, money and expertise into transforming the strategy, operations and finances of the businesses we acquire. We control and are actively involved in all our portfolio businesses.

Since 1994, Terra Firma has invested over €14 billion in 31 businesses with an aggregate enterprise value of over €45 billion.
