Should I get a Studio or 1BR as an Analyst in a Relatively LCOL area??

Long-story short, need to decide whether to move into a Studio or 1BR. Same exact location and everything. The only difference is cost and sq ft!

In terms of work schedule I'll be 3 days in and 2 day remote (with weekends obviously at home) so that may be relevant in getting a gauge on how often I'd be home.

It would be ~580 sqft versus ~750 sqft

~$1500 vs. ~$1800 a month (no utilities included)...about a $4k difference in cost per year

Having a real issue deciding which to go into as I'm a very frugal person, but wouldn't mind a bit more space as I am a bit of a homebody and am originally from a rural area with a lot of nature/space in general.

My comp is the same as street $105k (think bonuses might be lower though?) but I don't have a huge cushion from family support or savings either.

Obviously this is a good position to be in either way and it's probably a bit silly to come online and ask for help about this, but it's really getting to me in trying to pick something and I frankly suck at making these kind of decisions. I will second guess myself to the end. Please let me know what you all think??

Thank you all!

Edit: For clarification (if it changes things at all): The studio does have a separate sort of "room" from everywhere that's carpeted and has a door, but technically it's not considered a bedroom because of no windows in there.

Bruh get a 1 br if you have any friends/ever expect to host people (either to hang out or friends visiting from out of town).

Also imo having multiple rooms in a tiny apartment makes a big difference mentally as to how much space you have.

$1800 is dirt cheap anyways, you're paying an extra $3600 TOTAL a year to have extra room/space for guests.. that's a no brainer

Btw I'm paying $2700/month before utilities for a nice 1 br and I'm happy asf I chose to.

I hear ya. And maybe one important caveat and apologies for not making this clear in the post but the Studio does have a separate sort of "room" from everywhere that's carpeted and has a door, but technically not a bedroom because of no windows in there.

Don't think that changes the equation much but wanted to point out as it's something my parents have been telling me and that an $300-400 extra a month is a lot of money...

Idk, still think 580 vs 750 sqft is a big difference, especially as a homebody who works from home a fair bit

It is a lot of money, but people on your salary (base salary, ignore bonus) happily spend up to $2.5k in rent. If you are under $2k you really won't have a problem. Just keep some eye on your expenses, no blowing bottles at the club, but you should do that anyway. But you definitely won't be living paycheck to paycheck just because of the $300-400 delta.
