Have any of you relocated for a job to an area you don't know well, and has some undesirable qualities? What's been your experience?
I have a tremendous opportunity to relocate for a great role, very strong pay, but (unfortunately) in a tier 3 city which I'm not super excited about.

Nonetheless, tend to agree with you since it's about 2 hours away from "home."
You bring up good points, moving away from friends is always hard but sometimes sacrifices have to be made in order to progress career wise and on a personal level.
I would take the offer and never look back! Embrace it with the best mindset and make most of what you have.

Two hours? That's nothing. You could go home every weekend if you wanted. In some cities, you could move that far and still be in the same MSA (eg Newport Beach to Santa Monica).
