I am a junior at a semi-target (UMich / UVA / Notre Dame). I recentlyrecruited into PIMCO's Alt. Credit & Private Strategies group, but there doesn't seem to be much information about this group onWSO/ other platforms. Was wondering if anyone had insights into work and culture at this group (general PIMCO culture would also be useful). Appreciate the help!

Must be a small group and there isn't a ton of info on PIMCO onWSOgenerally, but I would think this would be a very strong experience
Alts are becoming a bigger deal at PIMCO (a strategic business ) and it is an area to drive returns in a tough yield world. They should excel due to their research acumen and overall resources / scale.

They value collaboration, productivity, efficiency, teamwork. It's a place where you want to bring your best and perform well, but within a team that wants to do the same. High energy, fast paced. From what I've been told, very welcoming.

Anyone know if PIMCO actually enforces hour restrictions for interns? People say they limit it to 40/wk but I don't buy it
I've heard that they limit to 40/week too. Personally, I wouldn't mind working a bit more considering that they pay OT. I can't imagine work hours crossing 70 / week for an intern at abuysideshop lol

I interned there last summer in their Account group. They limit interns to 40/wk, yes. I was surprised too, but enjoyed it. From my conversations with interns from previous years, that's also the case when interning in person. Full-time post-graduation in Account leans closer to 55-60/wk. I get why you don't buy it given it's finance, but yeah HR did not like it when interns went above 40.
How did you like your time there? Were you able to complete your work in that time frame? I will be interning in the accounts division too and I haven't heard much from them.

Well PIMCO is kind of the end goal for most of trading professionals...from what I know from sales coverage they have a very collegial culture. If you can convert this into aFToffer you'll be miles ahead of your counterparts
