No More GS Discount - 2021 Bonuses
With theGSsalary bumpannounced recently, was pretty nervous it would come out of our bonuses. However, this year, the bonuses were MONSTROUS forGSClassics.
First year analyst bonuses topped at $115k, with mid / up rounding into $95k, bottom getting $75k. Second year analysts topped out at $145k in my team, with mid being $125k. With these numbers, and second year analysts now getting $125k base, seems like a top second year analyst could rack in $270k pre tax - wow.
Anyone else here inGSclassics who can provide insight into their team? Sick year for industry comp as a whole.

Any insight on financing group
Are these with the old or new bases?
Any news on AFG?
This is crazy, any thoughts on whether this is to be a trend going forward?
Oh I'm gonna be hustling my ass off for that return offer next summer
why did I get MS for this?
Because nobody gives a fuck about urGSinternship
Pretty nuts, my first year associate all in comp atGSwas ~$275k
Real talk - that all-in is what associates are expecting for bonus.
Really? Top 2nd yr analyst all in apparently was $270k...
.
regret lateraling away wtf
Financing Group was also monstrous - same level 120-140k
Is this really a surprise given how many people quit before bonuses or lateraled away? Feels too low considering how much of the bonus pool remained the same with less fish to feed…
You are asking the right questions
Not exactly true here - tons of people left, but they also hired a lot of people and they were all paid full bonuses. Makes up for it.
Guess it's the MS discount now fml
Any MS peeps care to share their bonus and bucket? Idk what bucket but didn't even breakgsbottom by the numbers above
If you don't mind my asking, could you break out your base, bonus, and total comp figures for MS? Also which group and office are you in?
Would like to know as well. I heard MS bonuses were low by this year's standards.
whensciti bonuses announced
My MD said expect numbers on August 10
InTMT, top 2nd year analyst got 150k.
Would 1x for a second year analyst be considered bottom bucket atGSthen? Does anyone know how the different industry groups compared or were they all pretty similar?
Less sure across industry groups, but you get paid less if you're leaving. Topped out oat 125k if you are exiting.
The real question here would be to know whether that starts to make us too expensive to hire forPEfunds
not going to be the case
Man if these bonuses are similar next year pulling in 215-235 as a first year analyst all in atGSis niceeeeee
It'sGS– there is no way they will continue paying as much. They will make sure to find a way to screw you over sooner than you'd expect.
What are the comp ranges for associates?
50k - 170k
when isGSpaying out? heard it's an off cycle pay date
Is GS's new base salary just forIBanalysts or alsoPWMand AssetManagement? I know the bonuses will be very different.
NewGSanalyst base is for allFOroles, S&T,AM,PWMeffective Jan 1.
