LBS MFA IB Placement
Was looking at LBS's graduating class from their MFA and it seems like the vast majority of people placing intoIBhad goodIBinternships prior to the program atMMandBBbanks. Is this self selection or are people without top qualityIBinternships at a disadvantage for recruiting?

这是一个为期1年的课程,所以是的,我想您没有事先经验而处于不利地位
Students matriculated in the Program with no prior relevant finance experience apply forSApositions (instead of FT) offers. Simple as is. Same thing goes for every 1-year Masters Program in Europe (not the same as US MSFs). They typically startFTin Jan.-Feb. the year following the summer stint (if return offer granted, of course).
OP: This question's getting old, frankly...
Combination of both -LBSconsiders your CV quite seriously when making offers, leading to people having good CVs atLBSand thus getting the top offers.
Lmao watch the placement become shit next year (as with other top Masters), currently at one of these top programs and this year has been a fuckin bloodbath, such a waste of time and money. Full tuition of course, because it was never about the lectures in the first place and it is not like we had any other choice with the current job market.
Out of interest, how much of a "bloodbath" it has been? Like in terms of % of people getting interviews
The jury is not out yet and as you can imagine the pandemic has made it hard to socialize and get to know everyone, but I would say that out of those gunning forIB(without a return offer) most did not get an offer for London and probably won't, and thus are looking to go back home or settling for other roles (consulting, lower tier banks,ER, CM roles,AMroles etc.) Hard to put a number on this though.
In previous years, virtually anyone putting in the effort and with a modicum of relevant experience would land BB/EBIBD
Yeah this year seems a bit weird/difficult. Not applying myself, but a few of my friends currently applying are really struggling to get anything (with some pretty strong profiles tbh). Good luck with the rest of your apps
Agreed it is likely worse this year. Disagree on a few points though:
I. Quite a few from this year's graduating class struggled/are struggling to find employment despite having relevant experience.
II. Also wouldn't say anyone a modicum of relevant experience placed inBB/EBIBD。大多数人都有直接相关的经验(即IBDinternship) or fit the more favourable diversity profiles. Wasn't uncommon for some of the stronger candidates to be snubbed despite having some tangentially related experience
